Last summer, Blackbuck released a problem set for product design intern roles. I was interested in participating since I had time and wanted to solve a design problem for a long time. The bonus was the internship opportunity at Blackbuck!

Problem statement states that average farmer in India has significant challenges in understanding and planning his finances. The farmer has a steady stream of expenses to run the farm operations throughs reasons, however the farmer only earns income at the end of each season based on the volume and quality of the harvest, and ability to fetch the best prices in the markets.
Farmers also currently have limited access to credit and loans across the sector. This creates a challenge for the farmer with cash flow and working capital to keep the operations running.

So I decided to conceive and design a mobile app to help farmers understand and plan their finances better, and also avail some recent new credit and loan products that have been made available by private banks in the region.
